I Know I’ve Wasted Too Much Time When…

This is what I did this weekend.

When I should have been doing this.

So now I’m this.

Okay, well maybe not quite as extreme as the last picture (and definitely not with beautifully applied make-up and perfectly styled hair.) But, I did spent too much time with my nose in a book this weekend and the rest of my time playing games online. The proof is all around me.

I have:

  • a pile of dishes needing to be washed.
  • laundry in various stages of completion in my bedroom and in the laundry area.
  • reports to get done for a meeting tonight.
  • more work than I even want to think about sitting in the office at school.
  • deposits that need to get to the bank.
  • a stack of newspapers that need to be sorted through.
  • a growling stomach that is demanding to be fed. (My son’s is probably ready too!)

Because of all that, I am going to spend my day getting caught up around the house, but will catch up with you guys (and your blogs!) tomorrow.

I should have some real posts coming later this week. I started a couple over the weekend, but they need some polishing. I’ll also have to fill you in on my role-playing thing and the books that I finished last week. Good stuff.

  1. Eeee, how much pink is Suzy Housewife wearing in that pic? Though I do kinda want her gloves.

  2. Reading is a good thing! You're a writer, and it's absolutely necessary to do a lot of reading to write well, so cheers to you, sweetie.~

The rest of that foolishness can be done whenever. ;-)

I'm looking forward to more Hannah entries this week.~

  3. I know exactly how you feel, that is my role in my house as well. Dishes and trash always seem to reappear.

  4. That crazy screaming lady...she's pulled her face into such a shape that her nose has become deformed. Is this something she has always been able to do, or something she learned? I'm going practice this face in the mirror to see if I can make my nose do that.

I never spend more than one day on cleaning and catching up on laundry. And that's always on the same day that I give Choo Choo her weekly bath. Who wants to spend a whole weekend cleaning when there are so many lovely places in the world to visit? Like the Highlands in 1743 with a redheaded giant named Jamie...

Alright. So I'm addicted to the book you recommended. The next one is all ready to be purchased for Rosebud.

I'm looking forward to your upcoming posts!

  5. I totally understand getting sucked into reading a good book over attending to chores! What were you reading??

Good luck getting caught back up on housework...hopefully it all goes quickly!

  6. I am having that day today. I have much to do, but after a lame-ass ADD riddled workout, I am sitting on the couch catching up on my DVR (ok, I billed an hour or so..) I have many, many, many items to do including the laundry that is threatening to consume me. I also need to quit being a baby and finish my taxes. Some vaccuuming wouldn't hurt. But here i sit........sitting. Stiiiillll sitting. It's delicious.

  7. I wish. I haven't had time to read a book in like... forever. I will be taking one on the plane for our honeymoon, but you know, then Almost Hubs is going to insist on talking to me the whole time, and I'll get nothing read then either.

    *sigh*

  8. Nicki, lol! I never even paid attention to that. But now that I'm looking at it, she seems way too happy while doing dishes. I never look that happy. I hate dishes.

Kat, you're right! From now on when I'm buried in a book I'll tell everyone I'm doing research! Brilliant my dear.

OT, I think it reproduces when we're not looking. I swear my laundry is like bunnies. Just when I think I'm almost to the end, it's grown out of control again.

Chanel, I have to do laundry almost every day or else it becomes too big to get through. I just love the Highlands of the 1700s. I could practically live there. lol I'm glad you're liking the series. Let me know when you what a new series to read. I've got another goodie. Not quite as sure if you'll like it, but maybe.

Megan, let's see. Last Wednesday I finished Kiss of the Night and Saturday I finished Night Play. Now I'm reading Seize the Night. All by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Books 5, 6, and 7 of the Dark Hunter Series. Very good.

Onion, sometimes the motivation just isn't there. Sitting is so much more fun than housework.

Julianna, I'm sighing with you. Sometimes my Hubby gets huffy if I try to read when we're driving somewhere. Do what they do and take it into the bathroom with you. :)
